ALVIGO Group of Companies offers state-of-the-art technology for acetylene production, unit capacities of plants, designed during period 2006 – 2016, are from 20 to 60 ktpy. Process parameters, equipment/instrumentation implementation and automation system have been developed considering modern requirements for energy efficiency and process safety of acetylene plant.

According to our latest developments, acetylene plant up to 50 thousand tons per year contains only one concentration line. The capacity of one pyrolysis line is increased to 11.5 thousand tons. This significantly reduces the operating costs, equipment number and increases the reliability and safety of the plant. At the same time, the cost of 1 acetylene ton is reduced for 30-50 dollars approximately.

To ensure safe conditions, the process of pyrolysis gases and raw acetylene compression, as well as acetylene concentration process is conducted under pressure, safe for the explosive decomposition of acetylene, so as to avoid critical conditions that can cause an explosion.

Selective solvent N-methylpyrrolidone is used for acetylene recovery from pyrolysis gases. It is used double-loop system of solvent circulation in concentration section, allows reducing of polymers deposit in equipment.
