ALVIGO AS is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a tender and signed a contract with MAXAM-CHIRCHIQ for the implementation of a secondary nitrous oxide (N₂O) emission abatement system at its nitric acid plant in Chirchiq, Uzbekistan.
The project is financed through the Nitric Acid Climate Action Group (NACAG), an initiative dedicated to decarbonizing the global nitric acid sector. This award represents ALVIGO’s second climate-focused project supported by NACAG, following the recent and successful commissioning of an N₂O abatement system at Rustavi Azot in Georgia.
With a global warming potential nearly 300 times greater than CO₂, N₂O makes secondary abatement essential for delivering an immediate, verifiable environmental impact.
We thank MAXAM-CHIRCHIQ and NACAG for their trust and collaboration as we work together toward a cleaner industrial future.
