Nitric acid

Two flow sheets for diluted nitric acid at 1 320 t HNO₃ per day. The first is an «energy-technology» scheme using natural gas, proven in UKL-7 (120 000 t/y) and AK-72 (360 000–380 000 t/y) plants. The second runs without natural gas, recovering heat from the nitrous gas — the approach used by most large European trains.

The simplified train drops the air cooler and the multi-stage reducer: lower capex, higher reliability, less cooling water and less fuel.
